The house built on an old well has a pastor who preaches that himself. The way sat under him for years, and paid tithes there, and was baptized there, and was healed there by a word of release. The mouth that told him God was taking him out of the place of familiarity was the mouth that spoke the word of release. That pastor is one of the two spiritual fathers God put beside the well digger; the other is Bishop John. He dreamed of carrying sod into a house in a fifteen passenger van, and inside the pews rose on hydraulics so they could mow the grass beneath them, and a man at the van looked up at a church set high over a city and said, we could be like that one day. The houses lay sod over the dirt their grandfathers put there, and they do not want it wet and they do not want it dug. The well digger rips up the sod and digs, and they cry, my grandfather put that dirt there. He answers, it is dirty, and I am getting rid of it to polish the rock. He does not dig to take their well. He digs because he wants their well to run.
